Who is 021skee
021skee (Shuai Yan) is a bilingual rapper from Shanghai, now based in Toronto. His music blends Trap, BoomBap, and Melodic Trap, weaving Eastern and Western influences into personal, story-driven songs. As part of the Shanghai collective WaterFlow Music, he’s building a distinct voice in the global hip-hop scene.
He is currently preparing his new EP, “Shangtown Story Vol.1,” set for release in 2026. The project explores his journey from Shanghai to Toronto through bilingual lyrics and cross-cultural sounds. Recently, he reached the Top 30 of Rap of China’s Eastern Canada division, while performing across Toronto and releasing new singles.
A student of Seneca College’s Independent Music Production (IMP) program, 021skee has released the collaborative album “2 Rossington Street” with WaterFlow on Spotify, Apple Music, and NetEase Music. His approach is simple: be like water—flow freely, stay true, and let the music speak.
